7th May 1842.
My dear Uncle,
I am here on my way to Orange Co,
where I hope to be by the latter part of next
week after next. I go then to Hudson on business,
and it is of some importance that I get a
pleasant and agreeable introduction to some respect-
table person there; may I trouble you, if it be
in your power, to send me, enclosed in a wrapper
to Florida, a letter of introduction to the Messrs
Marshall
tories - or to some gentleman who can introduce
me to them.
With many apologies for the trouble I so often
cause you, I remain
Very Respectfully
Your affectionate Nephew
Augustus S.
His Excellency
W. H. Seward
Albany.
