My dear Willie,
I have looked
all around for a pony
for you, but have not
been able to find a
good one; the Indian
ponies here are very ug-
ly I do not think that
you would like them,
they are all similar
to John's, worse looking
if any thing.

The Indians do not take
any care of them and
use them to plough with,
liking large horses
better to ride. The [ Cam-anchies ]

Alternate Text: Comanches
who live 300
miles from here have
nice looking ponies but
they generally teach
them tricks, and I am
afraid they would
throw you off, they are
taught to bite and
kick when any one
comes near them that

they do not know, I ex-
pect you had better
try and get one at
home. Bruno is a
more sensible dog
than any we have
here, they all want
to ride when they go
with a wagon, and
if you do not let
them ride they growl
and wont go at all,
Kiss Fanny
