My dear little daughter,
When I was coming
up to the Capitol to day,
I stopped a good while
to look at some nice flower
beds, bordered with beautiful
yellow crocuses – I wish
you would let me know whether
the crocus is in flower in
our our garden – and if so
whether the blue crocus has

yet blossomed.
I think that the
Polyanthus must be very beautiful
now and that it has unfolded
all its pretty red leaves as
well as its yellow ones.
