My dear Uncle:
Mr Derby
Birth: 1818 Death: 1892
called in the office this morning
and requested me to write to you & say that if
you could let him have “that $1000” by the first
or middle of next month, he should be greatly
obliged – I knew not to what particular $1000
he referred, butI could not do less than
promise to write. I have done so now.
There is a report here that the
Silver Grays held a convention in Rochester
yesterday and it is understood, though not
avowed that P.M. Clark
Birth: 1806-10-23 Death: 1892-08-23
was nominated
for judge. The report needs confirmation.
The examination of the Syracuscians
drags its slow length along.
All well home.
Ever your nephew,
Clarence A Seward
