My dear Uncle:
Mr Derby
and requested me to write to you & say that if
you could let him have “that $1000” by the first
or middle of next month, he should be greatly
obliged – I knew not to what particular $1000
he referred, butI could not do less than
promise to write. I have done so now.
There is a report here that the
Silver Grays held a convention in Rochester
yesterday and it is understood, though not
avowed that P.M. Clark
for judge. The report needs confirmation.
The examination of the Syracuscians
drags its slow length along.
All well home.
