My dear brother
Please send my by rail my field
desk, 3 sheets & 2 pillow cases, and my Old Sword
the desk is in the 4th Story. The sheets in a dry goods
box in the barn & the sword in my room.
If my brother in law ^Lt^ Geo Watson
on his way here please give him any assistance
he may need, I should like to have him stay at
the house. An Officer

mortally wounded by guerrillas near Middletown

you are reading Genl Stevensons
the army please remebre remember that they are written
by your brother, although I find that I do
not get credit for them, as I report to Stevenson
& he to the Department, this is private however

under Genl Stevenson, If Carpenter
