My dear William,
After two months we are
preparing to reembark on our
voyage around the world.
During that time we have ex-
plored the Northern and the
Central regions of China.
We sail on Thursday next
for Hong Kong. A fortnight
at most will enable us to
see Canton and Southern China.
Thence we shall proceed. I know
not with what directness to Madras.
Letters written. however we receipt
of this will reach us there.
After our visit at that

place we shall go to Bombay.
there by Aiden to Cairo. Then
the Emperor
a fermand and invites me to
be the guest of the Empire.
I send a box containing furs
to your address. From this port
by US. Mail Steamer to San
Francisco, and by Wells and Fargo
Express to you. I advise Wells and
Fargo of the shipment.
I trust in God that all my
friends at home are well and
happy. Olive
