Biography: 
Delphine Marie was the daughter of Harmon Pumpelly and his first wife Delphine Drake (he was remarried to Maria Brinkehof in 1841). Delphine married General John Meredith Read Jr. in Albany on April 7, 1859. The couple had 4 kids together: Harmon Pumpelly (b. 1860), Emily Meredith (b. 1863), John Meredith (b. 1869), and Marie Delphine (b. 1873).
