My dear son
Mrs Martin
asks of you the favor
to forward the
enclosed letter –
Will
a slight chill
with very little
fever or perspiration
last night – This
is positive improvement
No 3 — I have felt
so much relieved
that I have been over
the garden to day

with Jenny
all nicely prepared
for winter which
is near us – The
trees and shrubs,
excepting the privet,
have lost their
leaves – the green
grass still peeps up
between the coverings
of manure which
are sprinkled over
it – rain – but no
snow yet.
Tell Anna
came safely –
Is Augustus
I see so many accounts

of Paymasters going to the
Army that I have
supposed him among
them –
Aunty
though her cough
continues to be
very troublesome.
Love to Anna
God bless you
Mother
