Auburn Sept 17th
My dear Gus,
A gentleman
yesterday said he saw that "Col
Seward" was ill, have you been
sick? or are you sick now? I hope
not, and that we shall soon see
you, will you go to New York with
Fred
Fred writes to Will that Anna
been sick three weeks, and was
not able to sit up on Thursday.
She is confident she will be well
by the 1st but Fred says he does
not feel sure of it. Aunty
well again, we are all well and
very busy getting ready for winter –
I hope you are well, and find
it comfortable in Columbia –
