Biography

Alonzo C. Paige was appointed order of the Court of Chancery from 1828-1846. He published 11 volumes of Chancery Reports. In 1838 he was elected Senator, where he served until 1847 when he was elected Justice of the Supreme Court. In 1867 he was elected to the Constitutional Convention. He had four children: Benjamin Mumford Paige, Clara Keyes Paige Payne, Harriet Bowers Paige Campbell and Edward Winslow Paige.
He published "Reports of cases argued and determined in the Court of Chancery of the State of New York" from 1828-1845, which are mentioned in AHW's letter to WHS- [18321123AHW_WHS]
