Biography
Previous occupant of WHS's hotel room at the Eagle Hotel, Albany, in January 1831, when Seward first traveled to Albany to join the State Senate. Because Oliver was still in Seward's room, Seward initially had to stay with outgoing Senator George H. Boughton, leading to the two men becoming friendly.
