Native of Pennsylvania, but moved to Albany at a young age. He was one of the earliest proprietors and publishers of the Albany Evening Journal, Thurlow Weed's newspaper, from 1831-1843. In the 1850s Andrew White serves as a Director of the Commercial Bank of Albany, and later as Assistant Cashier of the Bank.
