Paley was an Anglican clergyman, philosopher and author. He is best known for his Natural Theology or Evidences of the Existence and Attributes of the Deity and his Parable of Pigeons. He is mentioned by Fanny Adeline Seward in her 1862-1863 diary as the author of "Moral Philosophy" on January 20.
