Josiah Hall
Birth: 1784
Death: 4-1-1877
Biography
Appears in 18370926BJS_WHS1: "For a week or ten days we recieved no Lumbermans bills. Lowry called during the time, & seemed indifferent to my course. Tucker was much chagrined – & as soon as he could, put off to get an arrangement. In this he succeeded: & sent me yesterday, the written proposition of the Bank to give us drafts on Phil'a at four months, upon notice given them of the amount, in the usual way, adding two percent two months interest to the sum: and Josiah Hall & N. A Lowry & G. C Irving give their guarantee that the drafts shall be good." Josiah Hall is mixed up in the Lumbermen's Bank business. He lives in Warren, PA. The court documents for the Lumbermen's case can be found in the citation below. As far as his birth and death dates, I searched Find-A-Grave for "Josiah Hall" living in New York State. No entries looked promising. Searching for "Josiah Hall" in Pennsylvania, one entry came up for a man living in Warren. We know that Irvine lived in Warren, Lowry lived in Jamestown, and so Hall living in Warren makes good sense. This is our man.
