Johannes Rösing

Biography
In 1861 Rösing, entered the diplomatic service of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and was as Attaché of the Bremen Legation in Washington DC diplomatic charge d'affaires of the Hanseatic cities. In the spring of 1863, he took the three northern German Hanseatic cities on the 1st Universal Postal Conference in Paris. He became Chargé d'Affaires of the Hanseatic embassy in Washington DC and strove for the development of trade relations between the US and the German Hanseatic cities. He is mentioned in a letter from Fanny to her brother, Will Jr. as a visitor to their Washington home.
