De Bodisco served as the Ambassador from Russia to the United States between 1838 to 1854. De Bodisco lived in a house on 3322 O Street Northwest, with his wife, Harriet Beall Williams, whom he wed in a lavish ceremony attended by many DC elites despite their marriage being a scandal because Harriet was 16.
