Pele Sprague was born in Massachusetts, he attended Harvard and studied law at Litchfield, Conn. He was admitted to the bar in 1815. He served as a Representative and Senator from Maine on the 19, 20, and 21st Congress. He was a presidential elector on the Whig ticket in 1840.
