Person Information

Biography

Charles Borland was a prominent citizen of Orange County and was a District Attorney in 1829. In 18260929SSS_WHS1, SSS mentions "Mr Borland" visiting WHS's office because he refers to him as "Mr" when the other men he lists are simply "Denison" and "James Clinton" suggests that this would be the correct Charles Borland, but SSS may have also been referring to Charles Borland, Jr. (1786-1852) who was also an Orange County lawyer and politician.
