She was the muse and possible wife of Johnathan Swift (also known as Dean Swift of St Patrick's cathedral). Swift created a character named "Stella" after her and thereafter she was known as Stella. She is included in  Swift's monument in the Cathedral in Dublin which WHS visited in 1833.
