Biography
George Rex Andrews was born in Ticonderoga, New York on September 21st, 1808. He attended Albany Law school and passed the bar in 1836. He practiced law in Ticonderoga. He was elected as a Whig to the 31st Congress and served from 1849-1851. He moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin and engaged in the timber and lumber business, starting in 1852. Andrews resided in Wisconsin until his death on December 5, 1873. Andrews was married to Louisa (Patten) Andrews and the couple had one child together, a daughter named Catherine Mary Andrews Rockwell.
