Biography
Fourier was the French intellectual and philosopher who developed Fourierism. The theory of Fourierism enjoyed brief popularity in America during the 1840s, and Horace Greeley was attracted to the socialist ideas. FMS wrote to LMW in 1844 that she felt that Horace Greeley would have liked WHS's address to include more "Fourierisms".
