Biography
Mehmed Emin Ali Pasa served as the Ottoman grand vizier multiple times between 1852 and his death in 1871. Ali Pasa combined the foreign minister position with that of grand vizier in 1869 until his death in 1871. When William Henry Seward visited Egypt in 1871, he dined with the minister of foreign affairs who would have been Ali Pasa at this time.
