Biography

She was the English author who wrote several books: Etchings from the Caracci (1842); An Englishwoman in America (1846); The Statesmen of America in 1846 (1847); and Progress of the Catholic Church in America (1847). FMS was not fond of her writings and she shared with LMW in a 1847 letter the scathing review Maury got from the New York Tribune regarding her Statesmen book. She and her husband William Maury emigrated to America after 1846 with their children.
