Biography: "Edward Mynderse died at his home, in Seneca Falls. N. Y., yesterday morning. He was born in Seneca Falls in 1816, and graduated from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Troy N. Y.. in 1834. His entire life was spent in the town of his birth, and for many years he was prominently interested in its manufactures. He was the original proprietor of Its woollen mills, and was associated with others in the early construction of steam fire engines. He retired from active business several years ago. Mr. Mynderse was the youngest son of the late Colonel Wllhelmus Mynderse, who went from Albany to Seneca Falls in the early part of the century and developed the water power of Seneca River, founding the manufacturing industries of the town. The Mynderse Academy, whose foundation was due to the benefactions of Colonel Mynderse in 1830, was secured in its present establishment by the Colonel's son in 1885.
