Biography

Prince Albert was born in Bavaria. He attended the University of Bonn in Germany. He married Queen Victoria in 1840, when he was twenty years old. After he married Victoria he served as prince consort of Great Britain and Ireland. With Victoria he had nine children. Albert urged Victoria to take a greater stance in social welfare issues, as well as favor a neutral political interest. He also lead the drive for London's Great Exhibition of 1851. He died at 42 years of age.
