Lady Emily Mary Temple (nee Lamb) was the daughter of the 1st Viscount of Melbourne. In 1805, she married Lord Cowper. After his death in 1837, she married Lord Palmerston in 1839. It is suspected that Lady Palmerston and Lord Palmerston were engaged in relations before the death of each other's significant other. Lady Palmerston had three sons and two daughters born during her marriage to Cowper, however, it is suspected that some of these children may have been fathered by Lord Palmerston.
