Biography
George Frederick Pardon was a British author. He was born in London in 1824. He entered the printing office of Stevens & Pardon at the age of 15. From 1847 to 1850 he edited "The People's and Howitt's Journal," as well as worked as an editor for John Cassell on "Woking Man's Friend." Pardon published many books under the pseudonym 'Captain Crawley,' including The Billard Book, Games for Gentlemen, Tales from the Opera, Dogs, theor Sagacity, Instinct, and Uses, Stories about Animals, Stories about Birds, Caleb Worthington's Wish, The Little Traveller, Parlour Pastimes, and Noble Heritage. He married Rosina Wade, with whom he had three sons, Charles, Sydney, and Edgar. George died in Canterbury while visiting that city.
