Paul Anton Esterhazy (von Galantha) was born on March 11, 1786, the son of Nikolaus von Esterhazy. He became and Austrian diplomat and Prince. In 1810, he was appointed "minister at Dresden" and in 1814, "ambassador at Rome." He served as an ambassador to London from 1815 to 1818 and again from 1830 to 1838. He also served for a short time as the Hungarian minister of foreign affairs.
