Biography

Saba Holland nee Smith was the daughter of the well-known preacher Sydney Smith and the wife of Sir Henry Holland, a prominent doctor. She wrote a memoir of her father. She had two children with Holland, Caroline and Gertrude. William Henry Seward wrote in his June 21, 1859 letter from England that he anticipated meeting the family of Sydney Smith.
