Edward Bouverie Pusey

Biography
Edward Pusey was an clergyman of the Church of England and academic at Oxford. He was an outstanding student, studying with private tutors and eventually receiving an Oriel fellowship. He became a deacon, then priest, then professor of Hebrew. His wife died young at age 38. They had four children, only one of which - Mary Amelia Brine - outlived him; all the others died before 1844. He outlived several of his close friends before dying in 1882. In 1859, when William Henry Seward met him, they "sat face-to-face" at a evening prayer at the University Chapel, which he relates in his June 21 letter.
