Wife of Rev. Samuel Brown. She and Dr. Brown began the Springside School in Owasco, which had hoped to enroll William Seward Jr. Elizabeth wrote to Frances Seward February 26, 1852, saying "We were at the time disappointed in not seeing William among the first of our pupils, but we shall be very happy to give him a welcome here, whenever you decide to send him to our care. "
