Deyi Zhang was one of the translators of the delegation of Chinese diplomats that visited the US in 1868. William Henry Seward hosted them in Auburn, and Zhang comes up as their translator in the account Lazette Miller Worden gives of the visit in her letter to Anna Wharton Seward on August 4, 1868.
