Biography
Pelagio Antonia de Labastida y Davalos served as a priest for 51 years and a bishop for about 36 years in Mexico. In 1855, Davalos was appointed the Bishop of Puebla, Mexico, a position he held until he was appointed the Archbishop of Mexico in 1863. Davalos served in this position until his death in 1891.
