Delia Augusta was the daughter of Charles B. and Frances Perry of Auburn, NY. She married Roderic Cadwell Steele, and Emma Sophia Steele Curtiss was their daughter.
Mentioned in a letter from Benjamin F Hall to Frances Seward April 16, 1860, "I received your note respecting the position of organist in St Peters and have made inquiries and such interest for Julia as I could. It seems that Mrs Steele has not resigned her place there, nor signified any intention of doing so; but, on the contrary, she has signified that she expects to resume the organ after her present visit to her daughter Emma ."
