Ferdinand Columbus was the youngest of Christopher Columbus' two sons. Columbus never married his mother, Beatriz Enriquez de Arna. Ferdinand traveled with Columbus on several of his voyages, and later created a library of over 15,000 volumes. This library is his best-known legacy. He died in Seville, Spain in 1539.
