Biography

Marie-Anne-Charlotte Corday d’Armont, more often known as Charlotte Corday, was the assassin of French Revolution leader Jean-Paul Marat. She was descended from a noble family, and assassinated Marat on July 13, 1793 by stabbing him through the heart while he was in the bath. She was executed by guillotine several months later after being convicted of the murder by the Revolutionary Tribunal.
