Biography
Rena Newton was a milliner in Albany in the 1840s, 50s, and 60s. Likely mentioned in an 1845 undated letter from Harriet Weed to Frances Seward regarding a hat. "Your hat has this moment arrived, & James is waiting to carry it, as well as this hasty note to the Express office I hope it will please you. The varieties of "open straw" at Miss Newtons were not at all becoming & I judged that you would not fancy them, more than myself."
