Louise Allen, known on the American stage as Mrs. J.H. Allen, after her husband a New York stage manager and prompter, was a popular stage actress of the mid nineteenth century. Frances "Fanny" Seward references her playing the role of Lady Teazle in Sheridan's 1777 play "The School of Scandal" in her 1858-1859 diary.
