Daniel Wesley (D.W.) Middleton was the sixth clerk of the U.S. Supreme Court. He was appointed by the Court in 1863, after serving as a deputy clerk since 1827 under Clerk William Thomas Carroll. In 1836, he married Henrietta VanDyke.
