Biography
Murray was a Scottish Writer and traveler. His writings were influenced by Sir Walter Scott and James Fenimore Cooper. His love interest, daughter of Maj. Gen. James Wadsworth, would bring him to America, only leading him to travel to the Northwest with a group of people from the Pawnee Native American Tribe, as Wadsworth's revered political status inhibited the longevity of his love with Wadsworth's daughter. Murray is first mentioned in Frances "Fanny" Adeline Seward's 1866 diary.
