Eli Long was a general, and later a Colonel of the Union army during the civil war. He was most recognized for his service in the Battle of Farmington and the Battle of Sanders. He is mentioned in Frances "Fanny" Adeline Seward's 1866 diary, where he is said to have attended a dinner party in Washington, DC.
