Josephine (Rapor) McGinnis was born in Chillicothe, Ohio. On November 30, 1849 she married George Francis McGinnis. She is possibly referenced in Frances "Fanny" Seward's 1866 diary as a participant, with her husband General McGinnis, in President Andrew Johnson's "Swing Around the Circle Tour" who stopped at the Seward home.
