Dear S.
I enclose the representation of the Trustees in rela-
tion to the remonstrance
& others — The major part of the names on
that petition were procured by false representation
And a paper is now circulating among those
who signed the remonstrance for the purpose of be-
ing presented to the Legislature sitting for the the
reasons which induced them so to sign it — and
also stating that since signing it they have
become acquainted with the provisions of the
law. And praying that the bill might be passed
when this latter petition comes down I wish
you would call up the bill — and see if it
can be got through the Senate
No discrete man can oppose
the Amendments of the Village charter
and it is really to be hoped that they may
pass
Some movements are beginning to
be made in relation to Town meetings
And we begin to talk about it in our own
time — D Hopkins
Brutus as Supervisor I understand our
folks bolt and that a new nomination
must be made — all well
