My Dr Henry
Florida Monday
20 May 1833
I am sorry to say your Dr Ma
very slow. The Weather is wet
and the mercury still affects her
mouth. She is now able to set
up one hour at a time. But I
know not how to leave her so
weak. She however advises me
to get ready and set out in season[ . ]
Reason:
Unless she mends faster it
will be with a heavy heart[ . ]
Reason:
I wish you to get to N.Y.
as soon as possible. I know
there is much to be done
and I am incapable of business
Yours affectionately
