Dear S
I trust God in his mercy will incline the hearts of the Whigs
of this County to vote. if not they are not much moved by the impor-
tunities of our friends: The truth is there is a lethargy here: among
certain folks — but yet I hope for a handsome majority: but you
must not count upon too much if you are betting or any thing of
that sort on heavy majorities from us: be cautious — 500 to 700 is all
that you must rely upon — yet this County can give 1000 if all
out and I hope and pray the people will see to it & be at the
Polls—
We expect you on Tuesday: we can give you entertainment for
man & beast — but beautyents
Truly
W
Good reports from Yates & Wayne — I shall not be surprised if the
vote in those counties are ballanced ‑ what is Cortland at :
will she ballance Cayuga — if so then you rely on us to
overcome Onondaga Yates Seneca & Wayne
Not a meeting or speech or any thing else has taken
place here — they want blowing I hope you will give it them
