Dear Seward
We calculate here that you are Gov: The West have
undoubtedly increased their vote from 1834. Steuben report says this
morning 350. against you. I sent you last night reports from
Livingston Genesee & Alleghany last night I think they are
reliable : We do not credit the reports from Oneida I do not
want to heare from that county or Madison : the evil genius
of Gerrit Smith
Weed to let him alone. We claim the Honor of doing for
the scoundrel and it will be matter of grave consideration
whether Bradish
vote render him contemptible = he has made all this fuss!!
You have run but little behind B in this county not over
40 or 50 votes: I took courage at this, and if there is nothing
more comes of it in other counties little harm is done= The abolition-
ists have acted like honest men generally and G.S. can lead them
no longer:
We are strong in the faith that you are elected with
a Maj of Sigs let us know from the side counties: then on
the direct route we get: Sibley
dont write. and says you &c– Granger
the same run with yourself. Nicholas
his ticket in all the Towns. You must with this train from
Orleans & Niagara: Let us know your first report from Chautauqua
& ACataraugus you will get them first.
Yours Truly
AW
We want Cortland Tompkins Tioga
Oswego & those counties out of the line.
