Your line about Dwight

for Geneva
is recd & complied with. We are glad to
hear of your safe return – and as it says
nothing about Frances
Birth: 1805-09-24 Death: 1865-06-21
illness, we are re-
lieved from the apprehension & unhappiness
we were thrown into by Henry Smiths
 Death: 1850-08-12Certainty: Probable
letter
from his sister

. Poor sis, how trying
her residence in Albany is likely to be!
We are receiving four or five thousand
a week – & find it difficult to hurry it
off since the steamer W.H.S has closed,
her trips. We need a better arrangement
in regard to remittances – but this with
many other things must be over for
your arrival here. Your note says noth-
ing about your visit – & we begin to
fear lest we may lose it. Whigs
& some others will be sorely dispappointed
if you fail them: office seekers also.
Come if you care – the venison is ripening
for your arrival.
Your grateful brother
B.J.
