Florida May 25th 1842
Dear Gov,
Your afflicted Father has instructed me to
send to you that he has received your letter of the 14th
in answer to it he would state that his inflamitary
symtoms have slightly abated; but the Extensive
ulcer in his side broncia & throat accumulate such
a quantity of puss, to gather with the want of sleep –
and appetite, with his feebleness he thinks that –
suffication must soon take place, I appreciate all the
importance of your business and weighty concerns still
I cannot help but think it is your duty to visit me Every
other Sabbath while I lie in the painful & critical situa-
tion, if you will write me in season when you will
be at NewBurgh I will send for you and return you –
your dear Mama
