Auburn March 8th. 1847.
My Dear Father
On my arrival here last evening from Washington
I found your letter of the 3d instant containing a certificate of
Deposit of $5000 on account of the loan to Gary V. Sacket
Birth: 1790-08-09 Death: 1865-06-02

Esquire.
The Circuit Court begins this morning, and owing to my
long absence finds me quite unprepared. The hustle will be
over shortly, and I shall then find my other papers and
write you fully.
Very affectionately
Your son
William H. Seward
The Honorable
Samuel S. Seward.
