This is a letter from William H. Seward to George M. Grier in
Goshen, NY. After this letter arrived in Goshen, George Grier then sent the
letter to Samuel Sweezey in Florida, NY. Auburn April 2d. 1848
My dear George,
I thank you for your kind letter of the 29th of
March.
I am just setting out for Albany where I have engagements un-
til next Friday. If I can disentangle myself there long enough
I shall go to Florida on Saturday hoping to spend one or two
days there – Please let my Father
convenient to do so. He may send for me to Goshen on Saturday. I shall
go by the Cars. We have letters recently from my son Augustus
reports himself in good health at Toluca. the capital of the
state of Mexico fifty miles West of the City of Mexico, between
the Cordilleras and the Pacific.
